Adan lives in Mexico, just a few steps away from the Pacific Ocean. He cares for endangered iguanas at his family’s sanctuary and protects the sea turtles that nest on the beach near his home. After he watches a turtle lay her eggs, he carries them to a place safe from predators. Later, he releases the hatchlings into the sea. Adan and his family prepare for Day of the Dead, a fiesta honoring loved ones who have died. Adan loves this time of year, when sea turtles return to lay their eggs and his ancestors’ spirits return to visit.
